You also have the option to book your travel directly for reimbursement.

ENVOY is not an agency; it is an internal division within Envision Physician Services. This means there is no agency go-between. When you contract to work with ENVOY, you work for Envision as an independent contractor or W2 employee.

ENVOY Ambassadors are led by specialty-specific Envoy regional medical directors and treated as an extension of Envision’s permanent staff. They are prioritized on the schedule over Contingent ENVOY and external locums. Ambassadors are deployed to difficult-to-staff locations, startups and transitional practices to provide continuity of care and contract stability. Our traveling Ambassadors have guaranteed shifts/hours for greater work stability and can contract as 1099 independent contractors or W-2 employees. As a Contingent ENVOY, you’ll contract as a 1099 independent contractor, functioning as a locum tenens clinician with increased flexibility and control over your schedule. You can choose when and where you want to work.

ENVOY offers opportunities for physicians and advanced practice providers at various career stages. Some choose to work with us full-time, taking advantage of the chance to travel and work in diverse practice settings, while others opt for greater flexibility to supplement their income alongside their full-time commitments. Envoy can serve as a valuable platform to gain experience with Envision before committing to a full-time role.

Yes. Rather than dropping them into clinical scheduling gaps, we partner with clinicians to find practice environments that match their training, experience and lifestyle needs. Our ENVOY Ambassadors are deployed as needed, based on their primary licensed markets. For Contingent ENVOY, clinicians have full control over where and when they’d like to work.

Our practice settings vary from small hospitals to academic health systems, covering a diverse range of communities, from rural and underserved areas to major metropolitan areas. All facilities are contracted with Envision Physician Services, enabling us to streamline the cross-credentialing process at multiple sites.

The first step is to contact one of our dedicated ENVOY recruiters or our Ambassador regional medical director. Our goal is to understand your needs and goals and to determine how we can establish ideal partnerships.

If you’re interested and would like to test working in a travel capacity with Envision, we recommend starting as a Contingent ENVOY clinician. This allows you to work as an Envision contractor or employee at your preferred location. Once you join the Ambassador program, you are deployed in 90-day increments to meet our most pressing needs.

Yes, recently graduated residents are welcome! However, coordination with our facilities is necessary, as not all are able to accommodate new graduates.
